Mrunal has been involved in the Parent Carer Forum movement since May 2013. During this time he has been a steering group member of the Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum and served as chair from its inception in May 2013 until June 2016. He was also chair of the Eastern Region of Parent Carer Forums between May 2014 and January 2016. Mrunal was appointed NNPCF steering group member for the East of England in December 2016. In his professional life Mrunal has held a number of director level positions in the financial and the charity sector over a 25-year career and brings a valuable mix of personal and professional experience to the role.
Following his appointment Mrunal said: “I am honoured to be appointed co-chair of the NNPCF. It’s humbling to be a part of a movement with so many passionate, knowledgeable and committed members who work so hard to achieve a better life for children and families like mine. At such a pivotal time, it’s more important than ever that our voices are heard and that the people who create the polices, set the budgets and deliver services really understand our lived experience of SEND so that though working together we can deliver the best possible outcomes our children and young people.”
Our Co-chair Maureen Morris says about this election that “As Mrunal has said this is a pivotal time for the NNPCF, the SEND agenda locally, regionally and nationally as we approach the end of implementation phase of the Children and Families Act 2014. Mrunal has already shown himself to be a very effective steering group member and I am delighted to have him join me as the Co-chair. We have already developed a good relationship which I am sure will be enhanced in the coming years as we continue to the work for the NNPCF together.”
