A letter published by a coalition of childrens organisations is calling for improved prioritisation of children and young people within government spending.
Mrunal Sisodia and Maureen Morris, NNPCF Co-Chairs, have added their signatures on behalf of the NNPCF and its membership to the letter (letter to ministers sept 2018). This letter highlights the need for a greater focus and priority to be given to vulnerable Children and Young People, including those with SEND.
Our members have been telling us about the challenges they face locally in ensuring local policy effectively and meaningfully prioritises children and young people with SEND and their families. We can clearly see a link between the lack of national focus on this and the barriers faced by families across the country. We feel the best way to overcome this is by leading from the front. National priorities need to reflect and drive this forward with a clear message that this should cascade down through regional and local practice too.
